Genres range from general interest collecting books to coin price books. Just don’t get overwhelmed and purchase every single book that piques your interest. Pick one that sounds easy enough to understand but will still teach you something that you don’t know. Just don’t expect to be a pro at coin collecting overnight, if you were, coin collecting books wouldn’t be as popular as they are.
If you are a true novice to the coin collecting hobby, one of the first coin collecting books you may want to check out would be the book entitled Coin Collecting for Dummies. The Dummies line of books covers a wide range of topics and at some point in your travels you are bound to have read one at some point. This book, like the rest of its line pretty much does as the title implies. It will, for lack of a better term, dumb down the content so it’s easy enough for anyone to understand. Although this book is really geared towards anyone from the beginner collector to the advanced, some may be turned off by the name figuring it will be too simplistic for them. Whether it’s a how to book for collecting coins or a book that shows you the ins and outs of determining if a coin is a fake there is bound to be a book that will teach you something new. Just don’t assume you know everything because with coin collecting books you are bound to learn something new.
